Last Thursday, the Colma Police Department dealt with a pair of shoplifters who decided to take a little more than they paid for. According to a post on the Colma Police Department's social media page, at about 3:09 PM, officers responded to a theft report at a business located on the 200 block of Colma Boulevard. Two men had dashed out of the store, merchandise in tow, without settling the bill. An initial sweep of the area left the officers empty-handed, as the culprits had fled the scene with a hint of stealth, leaving no immediate trail.
About a half-hour later, as officers roamed Junipero Serra Boulevard near Southgate Avenue, they detained two individuals that fit the suspect description from earlier. "The males were positively identified by the business' loss prevention officer as the males that stole from the business," the Colma Police Department reported, and a seemingly routine arrest took place.
One of the duo was Sione Livai, a 24-year-old from San Lorenzo. His counterpart in crime, William Montoya, aged 22, calls Berkeley his home. It was determined the suspects stole a combined amount of $129.99. Both offenders were handed a citation for shoplifting and given false identification to the police. The authorities released the men on a promissory note to face the music in court later.
