
Last Monday, a solo vehicle crash occurred on East Briggsmore Avenue in Modesto. A Dodge Dakota veered off the road and struck a tree. One person was killed, and another was seriously injured. The Modesto Police Department provided an update about the incident.
A vehicle driven by 34-year-old Anthony Avalos of Modesto was traveling westbound on E. Briggsmore Avenue when it crossed the railroad tracks at Santa Fe Avenue and lost control. The passenger, 20-year-old Guadalupe Hernandez from Riverbank, was transported to a hospital but later died from her injuries. Avalos also sustained major injuries but is expected to recover, as reported by the Modesto Police Department.
According to the Modesto Police Department on their Facebook page, the Traffic Safety Unit is asking for information from anyone who may have witnessed a recent collision.
