Congressman Andy Ogles has accused U.S. District Judge John Bates of high crimes and misdemeanors, following Bates’ order requiring the CDC, HHS, and FDA to reinstate content on government websites related to LGBTQ issues. Ogles argues that this order goes against Executive Order 14168, which directed the removal of such content from federal resources.
According to a release from Congressman Andy Ogles website, he criticized the requirement, calling it repugnant and accusing Bates of overstepping his judicial authority. He described the content as radical LGBTQ propaganda and argued that taxpayer funds should not be used for what he views as promoting the castration of children.
Ogles contends that Congress has the power of impeachment to address situations where judges overstep their bounds. He stated in the same release, "My articles will do just that," indicating his intention to move forward with impeachment proceedings. He argued that his actions are necessary to protect taxpayers from funding content he believes is harmful.
