A Valentine's Day incident led to the arrest of a convicted felon in Alameda. Yesterday, a woman's call to 9-1-1 about suspicious "pops" and a discovered bullet hole eventually resulted in the discovery of guns, ammunition, and drugs at her neighbor's residence, according to a post by the San Pablo Police Department.
The call, from a worried mother alongside her husband and infant, prompted a quick response from San Pablo police officers. Upon arrival, they confirmed that the "pops" were indeed gunfire, with two small caliber bullets located inside the bedroom. It was determined that the shots were fired from the neighbor’s backyard, where a 55-year-old man was subsequently found by the authorities.
During a search of the man's living quarters in a backyard shed, officers uncovered a .22 caliber rifle, spent shell casings, and more live ammunition. As per the San Pablo Police Department, they noted that the man was a convicted felon, forbidden from possessing firearms, and had a history of violence. Adding to the charges, police also found crystal methamphetamine in the man's possession.
The convicted felon was taken into custody and booked on several felony charges, "including shooting into an inhabited dwelling," the San Pablo Police Department's social media post detailed.
