A convicted felon, identified as Terron Reeves, 35, has been released on an $18,500 bond following a high-speed chase with TITANS Unit detectives Thursday night. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Reeves was driving his Honda Accord at an excessive speed of 100 miles per hour on I-24 West near Harding Place when detectives first spotted him.
Attempting to conduct a traffic stop at Westchester and Brookway Drive, the situation escalated quickly as Reeves accelerated, fleeing the scene and dangerously driving into oncoming traffic. One detective was forced to veer off the road to prevent a collision head-on. After parking his Accord in a garage on 11th Avenue North, Reeves tried to escape on foot but was ultimately caught, as detailed by the Metro Nashville Police Department.
During the arrest, officers found marijuana, amphetamine pills, and a digital scale at the scene. An additional bag of marijuana was discovered hidden in Reeves' pocket after he arrived at the Downtown Detention Center. With a history of robbery, drug, and weapon convictions behind him, Reeves is no stranger to the criminal justice system. His charges from last night's incident include felony and misdemeanor evading arrest, contraband in a penal institution, marijuana possession, drug possession without a prescription, evidence tampering, and possession of drug paraphernalia, as reported by the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Mere hours after the arrest, a bond was set, and Reeves was released from custody and back onto the streets. TITANS Unit detectives had just put forth efforts in the apprehension of Terron Reeves, who owned pills and marijuana when he attempted to flee the scene, only to see him secure his release with an $18,500 bond this morning.
