
The Dakota County Board of Commissioners recently appointed two new private sector representatives to the Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board, announced through an official county news release. Joining the ranks are Charity Weibel, vice president of commercial banking at Old National Bank in Apple Valley, and Mike Toepfer, chief operating officer of Cal-Tex Electric, Inc. in Prior Lake.
Weibel, honored as the 2023 SBA Banker of the year, boasts over two decades of experience in banking and investment. She's reputed for her ability to construct and grow sales teams, harnessing tailored learning and motivation. "Weibel coaches and mentors new team members and lenders," as conveyed in the Dakota County press statement. On the other hand, Toepfer brings to the table his substantial background in construction and business operations, lacing his insight with years of management experience within the industry.
The Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board is tasked with the oversight of employment and training programs across Dakota and Scott counties. Its responsibilities hinge on initiatives that are state-renowned for their innovation, operating out of CareerForce locations in Burnsville, Shakopee, and West St. Paul.
With the appointments aiming to further bolster the board's effectiveness, both Weibel and Toepfer are positioned to leverage their respective fields of expertise. The board's goals are to dynamically improve local workforce challenges.
