
A man in his 50s was fatally shot at North Hollywood Park on Tuesday, in a daylight incident that has left the community seeking answers. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 1:40 p.m. near Tujunga Drive and Magnolia Boulevard, where they discovered the victim deceased from a gunshot wound. According to CBS News Los Angeles, police have detained at least one person of interest as they continue to actively investigate the shooting.
In their report on the incident, KTLA added that the suspected shooter was described as a man aged between 30 and 40 years old who fled the scene immediately after. The pursuit of the suspect led officers to a nearby apartment complex, as the search for clarity and custody stretched beyond the park's perimeter.
As of now, the police have not yet released a motive for the attack, and detailed information about the suspect remains scarce. The Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Bureau Homicide detectives have been actively canvassing the area for witnesses and additional evidence, as reported by the LAPD. The victim, a 30-year-old male Hispanic, has yet to be publicly identified, pending notification of next of kin.
