A fire broke out early this morning in an apartment building in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, resulting in one death and two injuries. As reported by abc7NY, the fire started after 3:30 a.m. on the third floor of a building on 80th Street, killing a 37-year-old man, who was later pronounced dead at the hospital. A 34-year-old woman and her 2-year-old child were injured but are now in stable condition.

Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from a third-floor window. A neighbor shared her experience, saying, "I came out and saw there was a lot of smoke in the apartment and the smoke was coming from under the floor," and "So I notified my roommate and I told her something's wrong and we got to get out," according to abc7NY.

Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire, and authorities are still working to determine the full extent of the damage, as reported by News 12 Brooklyn.
