A 19-year-old woman from Dearborn Heights was fatally shot in a road rage incident in Dearborn, Michigan. The Dearborn Police Department, in collaboration with the Detroit Police Department, is seeking public assistance in gathering information about the case, which occurred last Friday night, according to CBS News Detroit.

The fatal road rage incident began when 19-year-old Rawan Baseti, driving a black Jeep Grand Cherokee, was allegedly cut off by a white Chrysler 200 near Warren Avenue and Southfield Freeway. Baseti attempted to capture the vehicle's license plate, leading to a pursuit that ended near Tireman Avenue and West Morrow Circle. As the Chrysler turned onto Cheyenne Street, multiple shots were fired, fatally striking Baseti while her two passengers were unharmed. Theresa Lewis, a local resident, recalled hearing the gunshots and the aftermath, saying, "They all were young girls. They were babies to me," as reported by WXYZ.

Three individuals were detained following the shooting, with two remaining in custody on unrelated charges and one released pending further investigation. Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin stated, "We continue to devote manpower and investigative resources and work with partner agencies to gather evidence in this ongoing investigation," as stated by ClickOnDetroit. Police are requesting public assistance and ask anyone with information to contact the Dearborn Police Department at 313-943-2225 or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
