Two individuals are behind bars after Flock cameras spotted a stolen vehicle in Fairfield. The Police Department reported that a stolen car was identified cruising along Beck Avenue on Tuesday. The Fairfield Police Department shared via social media that Officer Mroz swiftly located the car and waited for backup before moving.
A traffic stop soon followed, leading to the cooperation and detention of the driver, 38-year-old Derrell Lawson, and his passenger, 32-year-old Cheyenne Adams. During the search, police found what they suspected to be cocaine on Lawson and two rounds of ammunition on Adams. The vehicle search compounded the situation when it revealed a loaded handgun.
Lawson didn't just end up in handcuffs for the car theft; the drugs found in his person added to his woes. Adams already wanted on an outstanding warrant, is now also facing weapon and drug charges alongside Lawson. Both were taken to the County Jail following their arrest.
