The City of Farmington Hills is gearing up for spring and summer by opening its doors to nearly 200 seasonal employees. The hiring process will kick off at two notable events in March: The Hawk, Farmington Hills' renowned recreation and arts center, where the city will hold job fairs at 5 p.m. on March 11 and March 17. The roles are spread across engineering, arts, recreation, public works, and other sectors.
Job opportunities are ripe for a wide scope of individuals, encompassing part-time and full-time positions that appeal to high school and college students, professionals, and even retirees. Positions command wages up to $25 per hour, with potential weekly earnings reaching $1,000. Lori Brown, Director of Human Resources for the City, emphasized the inclusive nature of the hiring initiative. “Our team is excited to meet jobseekers of all backgrounds to share how they can have an impact in the Farmington Hills community,” Brown said in a statement detailed by the City of Farmington Hills' news release.
Open roles in the Special Services Department cater to a variety of interests, including aquatic, cultural arts, and recreational positions. The City is also staffing for its summer camp programs, which serve as a cornerstone of activities and educational experiences for the community's youth. Over in Public Services, the Engineering Division is adding three seasonal engineering aides, while the Division of Public Works seeks hands for landscaping, clean-up, and traffic control tasks, with positions starting at $15 per hour.
Prospective applicants can make their attendance at Harrison Hall on the second floor of The Hawk, located at 29995 W. Twelve Mile Road, during the aforementioned hiring events.
