The incident took place on Bagby Street near Webster Street around 1 a.m., where witnesses reported to the Houston Police that a man was spotted breaking into cars. According to Click2Houston, the vehicle's owner and his friend confronted the suspect, which led to a fight.
During the altercation, the suspect allegedly drew a gun and shot the two men, striking one in the arm and the other in the upper extremities. As per KHOU, the wounded man, whose age is reported to be in his 20's, was rushed to an area hospital and is expected to survive. His companion, however, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the shooting, the alleged perpetrator fled the scene, sparking an ongoing manhunt.
