A deadly blaze erupted in Aguanga on Monday afternoon, prompting a response from the Hemet Sheriff's Station deputies and CAL-Fire personnel. According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, multiple fires were reported in the 45000 block of State Highway 79, engulfing a travel trailer and a nearby ravine.

Deputies, arriving at the scene around 4:42 p.m., swiftly initiated an evacuation of nearby residents as firefighters tackled the flames. After the fire was brought under control, during the cleanup process, investigators made a grim discovery. The charred remains of a person were found within the trailer. The identification of the victim is currently withheld, waiting on confirmation and notification of the next-of-kin.

The Central Homicide Unit has since been called to lead the investigation into the incident, suggesting a turn towards the criminal in the case's nature. The specifics of the fire, including the cause and the circumstances under which it started, are still under scrutiny. "This investigation is ongoing, and additional follow-up is being conducted," the sheriff's department stated in their release.
