In a sobering report from the Scott County Sheriff's Office, a head-on collision claimed the life of a 54-year-old woman from Prior Lake, while seriously injuring a 64-year-old man. The incident occurred on Monday around 8:07 p.m. on County Road 21 in Credit River. As noted by the official release, the man's white Chevrolet Tahoe, traveling westbound, veered across the median, striking the woman's eastbound red Kia.

The aftermath of the crash saw the Kia's driver transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where her injuries proved fatal. The Chevrolet Tahoe's driver was also taken to the same hospital with serious injuries. In a tragic circumstance, Sheriff Luke Hennen conveyed the community's sorrow, "We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim during this difficult time."

The tragedy prompted a collaborative response involving numerous agencies. The Scott County Sheriff's Office received assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol, Prior Lake Police Department, Prior Lake Fire Department, and Allina Health EMS. These efforts reflect the community's unwavering commitment to service in times of crisis.

This fatal event has not been linked to substance intoxication, as the authorities currently do not believe that "alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the crash".
