
A serious collision that took place in Kissimmee this morning resulted in the death of one person and critical injuries to another, causing a significant roadway disruption on Orange Blossom Trail. WESH reported that a vehicle was headed in the wrong direction in the eastbound lanes just east of Parkgate Drive at about 1:50 a.m. when it collided head-on with another car.
The driver of the vehicle traveling the wrong way, identified as a 37-year-old individual from Orlando, was killed as their vehicle overturned upon impact, coming to rest on its roof. Traveling in the vehicle that collided, the 25-year-old driver from Haines City was transferred with serious injuries to Osceola Regional Medical Center.
Following the investigative and clean-up efforts at the crash site, WFTV witnessed the road reopening. The lanes along South Orange Blossom Trail, which had been closed due to the crash, were eventually cleared by troopers. The reopening occurred around 7:30 a.m. after hours of closure that affected the morning commute for many motorists.
