Ventura County residents saw a significant narcotics bust with the arrest of a Fillmore man, charged for his alleged involvement in the sale of deadly substances, in a statement released by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
A months-long investigation led by the Ventura County Fentanyl and Overdose Crimes Units (VC FOCUS) culminated in the apprehension of Mario Galvez Jr., 44, stemming from operations conducted from his Surrey Way residence. While selling methamphetamine to a customer, detectives affected the arrest, alongside the procurement of a search warrant last Tuesday, detailed by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office. Galvez now finds himself charged with possession for sale of a controlled substance and possession for sale of a dangerous drug.
During the search of Galvez's home, law enforcement seized nearly one pound of methamphetamine, 20 grams of fentanyl, and US currency believed to be derived from narcotics sales. The arrest introduces a sobering reflection on the pernicious battles against drug distribution in the county. Galvez has since posted a $50,000 bail after being booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility and is scheduled for arraignment on February 4, as detailed by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
