Five individuals were arrested last Saturday morning after a series of incidents in North Philadelphia, which included an armed robbery and a following barricade situation. According to NBC Philadelphia, Philadelphia Police arrived at the 4800 block of B Street to find a man who had been robbed at gunpoint and attacked by the suspects' dogs. The assailants, armed with a gun and a baseball bat, subsequently fled into a nearby house, leading the police to declare a barricade situation.
The situation began to unfold just after 8 a.m. last Saturday when authorities were dispatched following a 911 call about the theft. It wasn't long before officers managed to take into custody three men and two women, as well as confiscate three dogs supposedly involved in the attack. A gun was also recovered from the scene, reported FOX29. The barricade was declared over shortly after 9 a.m.
The victim suffered head injuries and other wounds to his lower extremities, as per FOX 29. He was taken to Frankford Torresdale Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. The dogs involved in the incident were taken to the Philadelphia Animal Care and Control Agency. However, specific details concerning the condition or fate of these animals remain undisclosed.
The officers quickly secured the area and took the suspects into custody without further incident.
