In a recent turn of events, Aaron Moore, born November 21, 2001, surrendered himself to authorities at Larimer County Jail in response to a warrant for felony sexual assault, a serious charge that emerged from a 2024 case reported by an adult female who accused Moore of assaulting her while she was unable to defend herself.
The incident in question unfolded after a night of socializing in downtown Fort Collins, where the victim engaged in drinking with friends before sharing a ride to Moore's place, here, the reported assault occurred and in the wake of the allegations and subsequent investigation by Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) Detectives, who conscientiously interrogated witnesses and reviewed evidence. The warrant was sought and now, Moore faces charges of felony sexual assault, including a class 3 for assaulting a physically helpless victim and a class 4 for sexual assault while the victim was unable to assess their situation, FCPS stated in a news release from their official website.
With a bond set at $5,000 cash which was posted the afternoon of Moore's self-surrender, Sgt. Dan Calahan of the FCPS Crimes Against Persons Unit emphasized the intense emotional impact of such crimes, assuring the public of their dedication to supporting survivors throughout the legal process, according to the City of Fort Collins.
