Big news for animal lovers and furry friends: Fort Worth Animal Care & Control has scored Gold Medal Status with PetSmart Charities. This impressive accolade signifies that they've notched up over 1,000 adoptions at PetSmart locations, catapulting them into a premier league with only 53 shelters nationwide, as per the City of Fort Worth.
This noteworthy distinction celebrates the relentless efforts of the Fort Worth team, who tirelessly work to pair animals with caring homes. The award underlines their commitment and their significant actions in animal welfare. The two satellite adoption centers in PetSmart stores—one in the Hulen area and the other in north Fort Worth at the Alliance—are key players in this success story.
Sharing the spotlight, the adoption center at Hulen opened its doors in April 2010 and has since been the starting point for nearly 26,000 animals on their journey to a new life. The Alliance Center followed suit a year later in 2011, boasting over 21,000 successful adoptions.
