Residents in select neighborhoods of Fort Worth can expect major street overhauling in the coming months as the Transportation and Public Works Department embarks on a capital improvement project to rehab streets. The initiative includes substantial maintenance work, specifically full-depth reclamation of asphalt surfaces, and will address only damaged or non-compliant curbs, gutters, driveways, and curb ramps.
The streets slated for rehabilitation are scattered throughout the city, and according to a public note from the Municipal authority, they include Alsace Ct. from its southeast cul-de-sac down to Willow Vale Dr., with others like Sunny Glen St. running from Camelot Rd. to Gladewater Dr., all of which will see improvements. The city expects the construction to kick off in early February 2025, with sights set on a September 2025 completion date.
As preparatory work inches closer, the department has assured that residents won't be left in the dark—project signs are to be erected before the construction starts. Doorstep notifications, in the form of door hangers, will grace front doors a full week before any work begins. The rehabilitation effort may temporarily encroach on driveways, but the department has committed to keeping landscaping and irrigation as they are or returning them to their current condition post-construction. They've also promised that no trees or sidewalks will be adversely affected during this period.
