The incident, reported by ABC12, took place at the intersection of Clio and Pierson roads around 9:05 a.m., involving a school bus, a car, and two SUVs. One of the SUVs was overturned in the crash, which was said to have been caused by a vehicle running a red light.
Despite the severity of the collision, no students were aboard the bus at the time, and the driver did not report any injuries, as confirmed by Flint Community Schools in their statement. As reported by WNEM, the school district was alerted to the crash shortly after 9:30 a.m. and has been cooperating with law enforcement in the ongoing investigation. Flint Police Chief Terence Green stated that four people were taken to the hospital, although the extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

Visual confirmation of the crash’s aftermath was captured by a crew from Mid-Michigan Now, who arrived at the scene shortly after the incident to find four vehicles, including the school bus, cordoned off behind traffic cones, with one SUV visibly left on its side. "At approximately 9:36 a.m., FCS was informed that a school bus had been involved in an accident on Clio Road. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene, and all necessary precautions were taken," said Flint Community Schools in a statement that underscores their immediate focus on the safety and well-being of their scholars and staff.
