Commuters in the Nederland to Boulder corridor just got an extended reprieve from the woes of weekday transportation challenges. Boulder County’s recent announcement confirms that the free Boulder Canyon Extra bus service, originally intended as a temporary measure, will continue aiding travelers until May 23. Adding an extra afternoon round-trip on weekdays, the service began on January 21 and looks to fill a critical gap until RTD can boost its schedule.
Riding the wave of community needs, this extended service operates Monday through Friday and closely matches the existing RTD’s NB route. It's not only a free alternative but also a timely enhancement, providing additional connections for students and others regularly making the journey to important destinations in the area, according to Boulder County.
Boulder County, in partnership with the Town of Nederland and RTD, is on a mission to amp up the convenience of public transit. They're on the lookout for feedback too, inviting public comments and suggestions to further improve the Nederland, Boulder transit service. It's a collaborative push to shape a transportation system that reflects the realities and needs of those it serves.
