
A tragic occurrence unfolded over the weekend in Southern California's Orange County, where a 58-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a motorcyclist. The unfortunate incident took place at around 7 p.m. last Saturday in the 1000 block of North Euclid Street, Santa Ana, as reported by KTLA.

Hoang Mai Phan, a resident of Garden Grove, was identified as the victim who was walking eastbound through Euclid Street when the collision occurred. The motorcyclist, heading southbound, struck Phan, as disclosed in a CBS News article. Authorities quickly responded, with both police and the Orange County Fire Authority attempting to administer aid, but regrettably, Phan's injuries proved fatal, and he was declared deceased at the scene.
The motorcyclist, whose identity has not been disclosed, remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement officials. According to a social media post by the Santa Ana Police Department, there was no appearance of alcohol or drug influence playing a part in this tragic event. The exact circumstances of how and why this accident happened are still under investigation by the SAPD's Collision Investigations Unit.
Investigators are actively seeking any additional information from the public that could help to shed light on the cause of the accident.
