Garland Police had apprehended a juvenile following a reported robbery on Wednesday at a local store, as they responded to the scene just before 5:30 p.m. Officers received information that the two suspects had left the scene. Still, descriptions were provided, enabling a quick response. An officer located the suspects at a nearby apartment complex, but they attempted to evade arrest by hiding. According to the Garland Police Department's social media post, the pursuit ended with the K-9 Unit finding one suspect concealed near an apartment patio.
The incident occurred in the 500 block of the East Interstate 30 Highway, involving suspects who forced their way into the store through the back doors. Both wore black hoodies, dark pants, and ski masks. Once inside, despite an employee's attempt to secure herself, they demanded merchandise and money— one of the suspects brandishing a handgun. The ongoing investigation aims to identify and arrest the second suspect, also believed to be a juvenile.
The department's call to the public for assistance underscores the need for community cooperation in resolving these cases. Garland Police are actively gathering evidence and soliciting tips that could lead to the second suspect's capture. Anyone with relevant information is strongly encouraged to step forward and contact the Garland Police Department, offering their part in ensuring justice finds its place.
