The City of Euless has officially named Gary Landers the new Chief of Police, following his tenure as Interim Police Chief since September 2024. Landers' climb up the law enforcement ladder began in July 1990 as a Public Service Officer, climbing through the ranks that included Corporal, Sergeant, Captain, and Assistant Chief, as outlined in an announcement made public via the City of Euless official website.
Lauded by Mayor Linda Martin, having been on the force since his youthful days, Landers' appointment is a nod to his longstanding service and familiarity with the community. In a statement detailed by the City of Euless' official website, Mayor Martin said, "I am both happy and proud to congratulate our new Chief of Police, Gary Landers. He has been with the City of Euless since his teens and spent much of his career working closely with recently Retired Chief Brown. We are looking forward to Chief Landers leading the outstanding men and women of the Euless Police Department."
An alumnus of Trinity High School, Chief Landers has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration. He also holds several professional certifications and licenses, such as Master Peace Officer and TCOLE Instructor, which make his qualifications well-suited for his newly appointed role. Among his professional contributions, he commands the Child Abduction Response Team and actively participates in the Euless Police Department Honor Guard.
