
H-E-B is expanding in Houston with the opening of a new 100,000-square-foot eCommerce Fulfillment Center (eFC) to support its online shopping services. As reported by Click2Houston, the center will enhance Curbside and Home Delivery services, providing a more efficient process for customers in Houston and surrounding areas.
This is H-E-B's third eFC in Houston and the ninth in Texas since 2018. The grocery chain plans to hire full-time and part-time staff, leveraging advanced automation technology to improve order accuracy and speed, according to KHOU. The new center will handle a variety of products beyond groceries, including pet supplies and beauty products, aligning with H-E-B's goal of being a one-stop shop for Texans.
The fulfillment center is also expected to improve H-E-B’s supply chain, reducing congestion in stores and enhancing product availability for both online and in-person shoppers. Additionally, H-E-B donated $5,000 to the robotics program at Energy Institute High School to support the local community.
