Hawai‘i Governor Josh Green is traveling to Florida this week to attend the International Institute for Crisis Prevention and Resolution's annual meeting. According to the Office of the Governor website, Green will share insights from Hawai‘i's experience with the August 2023 Maui wildfires.

At the meeting, Governor Green will discuss Hawai‘i's approaches to post-disaster recovery and engage with experts in mental health and the justice system, who have worked on responses for individuals with complex health and mental needs, including those experiencing homelessness.

Governor Green left last night and will return on Friday. His office confirmed that he will remain fully engaged in his duties through meetings and calls, even while traveling. During his absence, Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke will serve as Acting Governor.
