The City of Helotes gears up for public hearings regarding a zoning classification request by CSW Shaenfield, LP. The details of the upcoming meetings were posted on the City of Helotes website. The hearings will provide a platform for all concerned parties to weigh in on the proposal to classify a parcel of newly annexed land as a General Business District (B-3), particularly the 6.714 acres located on Shaenfield Road, close to the junction with FM 1560.
The discussions will specifically focus on two tracts of land, one measuring approximately 2.432 acres and the other around 4.45 acres. These tracts, which sit adjacent to an existing CVS Pharmacy Store, hold the titles of Tract 1 and Tract 2, respectively. The desired B-3 zoning is said to mesh with the current commercial developments in the area. The properties were officially annexed during the city council meeting last January 23, according to the City of Helotes' announcement.
The first public hearing is scheduled to happen in the City Hall Council Chambers, 12951 Bandera Road, at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, during the Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting. A subsequent meeting by the City Council is set for Thursday, March 13, also at 7:00 p.m. at the same location.
Preparatory for the sessions, an item report by City Staff will be available when the Agendas are released, ensuring transparency and providing the public with ample contextual information. These agendas are typically posted at least 72 hours before the meeting dates. With the wheels in motion, the city of Helotes looks to its constituents to chart the course of its commercial landscape for this swath of land.
