The Henderson Police Department recently concluded a traffic safety campaign as part of the Joining Forces Program, focusing on speeding and other traffic violations. From January 13 to January 31, officers stopped 722 motorists across the city.
According to a release from the City of Henderson website, during the campaign, 476 speeding citations were issued. In addition, officers cited 9 distracted drivers and 21 for intersection violations. Another 97 citations were given for various traffic offenses.
The campaign was funded by a $179,000 grant from the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Office of Traffic Safety. This funding supports the 2025 Joining Forces program, which aims to improve road safety through increased law enforcement and targeted traffic initiatives.
