As reported on the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office's social media accounts, Witt had the honor of swearing in a new batch of deputies—fresh faces that will soon be integral to the county's policing efforts. The sheriff also joined in a significant discussion with fellow law enforcement leaders in recognition of Black History Month.
At a Minneapolis Downtown Council meeting, Witt served as a panelist, where she was keen to emphasize the role that public safety plays in sculpting a thriving urban heart. "Creating a safe and vibrant environment," she said, according to the office's Facebook post, is pivotal not just for Minneapolis but for its echo throughout Hennepin County. In a similar vein, the sheriff visited the Dayton and Rogers City Councils, where she delivered critical updates concerning crime trends and public safety strategies—an effort to transparently share the pulse of law enforcement with civic leaders.
Community outreach continues to be a strong focus for Witt and her office, the Community Engagement Team (CET). This dedication to outreach was shown clearly as the team took part in a Black History Month event organized by Lifetime.
Beyond educational events, the sheriff's CET notably facilitated a ski trip for over 200 fifth graders.
