Hesperia Deputies Seize Weapons and Drugs, Kaylo Starostka Arrested on Multiple ChargesSource: SBSD - Hesperia Police Department

Residents of the 18400 block of Temecula Avenue in Hesperia received a sudden jolt last Monday, as Hesperia deputies descended upon a local home to serve a search warrant with a start time of 11:56 a.m. Inside, they made contact with the suspect, 37-year-old Kaylo Starostka, a Hesperia resident. The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department followed their entrance with a sweep that turned up a cache of weapons and drugs.

In a move that was sure to effectively intensify law enforcement scrutiny on this area, deputies located an arsenal that included 16 firearms, a large quantity of ammunition, and what could be best described as an assortment of weapons designed for concealment and quick deployment — three pairs of brass knuckles and five switch blades. In addition, approximately 1.2 pounds of narcotics, ranging from suspected methamphetamine to fentanyl, heroin, ecstasy, and lysergic acid diethylamide, were seized from the residence, according to the SBSD Hesperia Police Department.

Starostka was promptly arrested, with charges piling up against him for being a felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited from owning ammunition, and possession of narcotics for sale. He now faces a future bound within the walls of the High Desert Detention Center, pending further legal proceedings, as per the SBSD Hesperia Police Department. The charges reflect a strict adherence to penal codes, specifically PC29800(a)(1) for the firearm offense, PC30305(a)(1) for the ammunition, and HS11351 for the narcotics possession.
