Good Earth Café in Holland, located inside the Towers on River at 159 S. River Ave., has announced its closure after a brief revival. The café will close on Saturday. Owners Todd and Michelle Girdis expressed their gratitude to their patrons in a social media post, saying, "We hope you will come by in the next few days, as we would love to serve you your favorite Good Earth items and express our gratitude one last time for being part of our journey." They also shared, "Your presence has meant more to us than words can convey, and we are blessed to have been part of your daily lives," as reported by The Good Earth.
The Good Earth Café, which opened a new location in June 2023, has announced its closure less than a year after the move. The café had a long-standing legacy in the community for over two decades before previous owners Dave and Cheryl Koeman retired and closed the original shop in late 2023. The new owners, the Girdises, sought to preserve the café’s traditional charm and continue its mission, stating, "Through faith and grace, we found a new home for The Good Earth Cafe with a vision to continue the mission: to see you, listen to your feedback, give back to the community, and serve you, your family, friends, and coworkers with lovingly made bagels, breakfasts, lunches, and drinks," as stated by WOODTV.
According to The Good Earth Café on their Facebook page, the Girdises expressed their appreciation for their staff and regular customers. "We have been fortunate to discover, hire, train, and grow alongside our dedicated staff, and we are truly grateful for their commitment to serving each of you," they wrote. As they prepare to close, they stated, "By faith, we look forward to seeing what the future holds for all of us and hope our paths will cross again in new adventures." They also invited customers to, "Let’s come together one last time to savor the flavors and warmth that have defined The Good Earth Café."
