The quiet streets of Fairview were disrupted by tragedy when a man was discovered dead not far from his home—a case that has since been ruled a homicide. The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office and the East Multnomah County Major Crimes Team are in the throes of an investigation following the grim finding. Roman Shulishov, a 38-year-old man, initially reported missing by his wife on Saturday night, was found dead on Sunday afternoon, near NE 211 Avenue.
Detectives swarmed the scene shortly after Shulishov's body was located, piecing together the circumstances that led to his untimely demise. According to a report from the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, they quickly ascertained that he had been shot. An autopsy by the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office would later confirm the gunshot wounds as the cause of death, cementing the case as a homicide inquiry.
Despite the sordid nature of the crime, officials have assured the community that there is no known, continued threat to public safety.
In the wake of this personal and local calamity, Shulishov's family has sought solace in privacy—an appeal that peers through the veil of their grief. "The victim's family is asking for privacy at this time," as duly noted in the statement released by the Sheriff's Office. The investigation remains open and active, with law enforcement calling on anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
