Authorities in Houston are asking the community for help in locating the driver of a white SUV involved in a hit-and-run that critically injured a 70-year-old woman. The incident occurred at 3800 North Braeswood Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the Houston Police Department release.
A surveillance photo of the vehicle, a white SUV, has been released in hopes of identifying the driver. The victim, Pamela Pepperell, was crossing the street when she was struck and taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her condition remains critical. A photo of Ms. Pepperell was also shared.
Houston Police Department Vehicular Crimes Division Detective A. Gomez reported that the suspect vehicle was last seen heading westbound on North Braeswood Boulevard after the collision. The driver did not stop to help and fled the scene. Houston Fire Department paramedics quickly transported Ms. Pepperell to the hospital.
