
A fire broke out in a townhome located in the 1500 block of Sherwood Forest St. in the Spring Branch West area on Monday, causing an estimated $50,000 in damage. The Houston Fire Department reported that the incident occurred at approximately 11:45 a.m. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported as a result of the blaze.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the second floor of the building and were told someone might be inside. They entered the home and searched but found no one. They put out the fire, turned off utilities, and checked nearby homes for spread, according to the Houston Fire Department.
A fire was extinguished, and HFD arson investigators are determining its cause and origin. The American Red Cross assisted displaced residents. A total of 53 firefighters from Stations 69, 2, 15, 5, 28, 68, 78, 83, 57, 75, 77, 73, and Rescue 10 responded. The Houston Fire Department published an official report on Thursday, detailing the response.
