Houston authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that left a young man dead last Friday night. The incident took place at an apartment complex located at 7100 Renwick Drive, as reported by the Houston Police Department.
Officers arrived at the scene near midnight after receiving calls about gunshots in the area. According to the official statement, they discovered an 18-year-old male, unresponsive due to multiple gunshot wounds. He was subsequently pronounced deceased by the Houston Fire Department paramedics who responded to the scene.
The identity of the victim, 18, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Houston Police Department Homicide Division Detectives A. Graf II and E. Torres II are in charge of the case and have begun a preliminary investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Initial leads suggest that the young man was shot during a robbery carried out by two suspects, described only as Hispanic males. They were seen wearing black hoodies and blue jeans, and fled the crime scene in a gray or silver sedan, of unknown make or model.
