
Early this morning in Concord, New Hampshire, a disturbing scene unfolded at a state office building parking lot, where an individual suffered life-threatening injuries from a self-inflicted stabbing. The New Hampshire State Police were quick to respond to the call around 8:45 a.m., at the Department of Environmental Services on 29 Hazen Drive, according to a report from the State Police.
Upon the troopers' arrival, they found the injured person and promptly determined there was no further danger to others in the vicinity. The victim was not a state employee, and it remains unclear why they were present on the state property. State Police have conveyed that the incident stemmed from a mental health crisis. The Identity of the injured remains undisclosed as of now, aligning with the privacy surrounding health-related incidents.
Assistance at the scene came from both the Concord Fire Department and the Merrimack County Sheriff’s Office, aiding the troopers in their immediate response. The New Hampshire State Police have also used this unfortunate situation to remind the public that mental health crises are serious and help is readily available for anyone in need. The State Police have actively encouraged that "Anyone can call or text the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 9-8-8 for free and confidential support for themselves, a friend or a loved one," as statement acquired from their published notice.
