The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) announced the arrest of a man in connection with a murder that took placed back in October 2024. Robert Hendrix, 32, was taken into custody after being suspected of killing 43-year-old Kristin Carrier. According to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office social media post, Carrier's body was discovered inside a home on Pheasant Drive near Busch Drive on the Northside, where she had succumbed to multiple gunshot and stab wounds.
At the time of the discovery, officers found Hendrix in the same residence—quickly detaining and arresting him on unrelated charges initially. While behind bars, JSO's Homicide Unit continued to thoroughly investigate the case, eventually gathering enough evidence to serve Hendrix with a murder warrant. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office stated their dedication "to bringing justice for Ms. Carrier’s loved ones," demonstrating their resolve to not allow any stone go unturned in pursuit of solving this tragic case.
The efforts of the Homicide Unit included a comprehensive review of the physical evidence, conducting numerous interviews, and consulting with the State Attorney's Office. These meticulously conducted steps were crucial in linking Hendrix to the murder, culminating in the decision to charge him for Carrier's death.
Hendrix is currently held at the Duval County jail, where he's expected to remain following the new charges.
