Last weekend, a DUI checkpoint by Jacksonville's law enforcement led to multiple arrests. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced via their social media that their Specialized Traffic Enforcement Unit conducted a traffic safety and sobriety operation in District 5, pulling over more than 200 vehicles.
Amid the stopped cars, not all of them were rolling sobriety tests. "We made 10 arrests, including four for Driving Under the Influence," posted JSO on their social media page. While the majority of drivers complied with laws, those charged with DUI offenses were apprehended, reinforcing Jacksonville's stance against drunk driving.
Combating impaired driving is a persistent effort to secure public safety on the roads. The sheriff's office underscored their commitment: "Removing these impaired drivers from the road helps make our community safer for everyone." JSO's Specialized Traffic Enforcement Unit remains vigilant and active in surveillance, sending a stern warning to potential lawbreakers: "If you choose to drive under the influence, you will be stopped and arrested."
