An arrest has followed a recent confrontation at a Subway restaurant in Saline, Washtenaw County. The police responded to an armed robbery taking place around 2 p.m. on Sunday, where a single suspect brandishing a knife absconded with an undisclosed sum of money. As reported by CBS News Detroit, the individual, identified as John Fulton, 59, was later apprehended and arraigned on multiple felony charges.
Following a report of an armed robbery at the Subway at 1010 E. Michigan Ave., Saline Police Department officers responded promptly to the scene. According to the department's press release, the suspect had fled in a black Chevrolet Equinox. The surveillance footage helped disseminate a photograph of the suspect on the police's Facebook page, gathering crucial public insights into his identity and potential location.
The collaborative efforts of the Saline Police Department, Milan Police Department, the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office, and Pittsfield Township Police & Fire led to Fulton's containment and subsequent arrest in Milan, Michigan. Saline Police Chief Marlene A. Radzik expressed gratitude to the assisting agencies for their professionalism during the operation in a Facebook statement.
In the wake of the investigation, which included interviews and forensic evidence collection, the Washtenaw County Prosecutor's Office sanctioned three felony charges against Fulton. Fulton is on a $30,000 cash/surety bond, with his next court appearance set for a probable cause conference on March 6.
