As amusement parks prepare for the influx of thrill-seekers in the upcoming season, Knott's Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain are ramping up their hiring efforts. These Southern California parks are opening hundreds of seasonal positions, with job fairs running from February 15 through February 22 as they undertake a significant week-long hiring blitz to staff up for 2025.
According to KTLA News, the parks are offering starting hourly wages of $16.50 at Knott's Berry Farm and $17.27 at Six Flags Magic Mountain for employees 16 years and older, dependent on experience, prior service, and job role. However, the parks are looking for more than just ride operators and food & beverage associates—they're also hiring lifeguards, security associates, sales associates for merchandise and games, park service attendants, and guest services personnel.
"Seasonal associates are the lifeblood of our business and play an instrumental role in consistently delivering amazing experiences to our park guests," Jon Storbeck, VP and GM of Knott's Berry Farm, told NBC Los Angeles. The value that these roles bring to the park experience cannot be overstated, making this hiring period a crucial time for both the parks and potential employees looking to join the team.
Applicants have the potential to be offered positions on the spot during the hiring events. Moreover, Jeff Harris, President of Magic Mountain emphasized the benefits of working at the parks saying, "We offer competitive wages and unbeatable perks that include opportunities for leadership development, college scholarships, career advancement, and so much more." he told KTLA News. The parks tout a bevy of perks, from free park admission, and free tickets for friends and family, to discounts on season passes and park merchandise.
