Nonprofit organizations in Knoxville addressing housing and homelessness can now apply for funding through the Community Development Block Grant Program and the Homeless Grants Program. The City of Knoxville aims to support low- to moderate-income households and reduce homelessness. Applications opened on Friday.
Interested applicants have until February 21 to apply for funding. The initiatives are supported by federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development and local budgets. Knoxville's 2025-2029 Five-Year Consolidated Plan, developed with public input, will outline priority needs, with a draft plan available for public review in April 2025, as reported by the City of Knoxville.
Agencies must attend workshops to apply for the Homeless Grants Program and Community Development Block Grant Program. Workshops for the Homeless Grants are on February 6 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. and February 12 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Community Development Block Grant workshops are at similar times on the same dates. Applications are due online via Zoom Grants by 4:30 p.m. on February 21. Technical assistance is available for using the platform, according to the City of Knoxville.
