
In a tragic incident that occurred in Irvine, a 29-year-old man's life was cut short following a devastating car accident. Authorities reported that a black Hyundai Elantra, steered by Joshua Kevin Soto of La Habra, was traveling in the opposite direction on Jamboree Road when a head-on collision took place with another vehicle. The CBS News Los Angeles source indicates the crash happened just after 1:30 a.m., south of Warner Avenue.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Soto's injuries proved fatal, and he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was not injured. The Irvine Police Department has not disclosed whether drugs or alcohol played a role in this terrible incident, as the investigation continues. Additionally, the city's press release notes that the city's Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is looking into the cause of the collision, and Detective Joshua Balos has been assigned to the case.
