The Los Angeles home of French soccer star Olivier Giroud, who plays forward for Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Football Club, became the target of a burglary earlier this month. Earlier this month, Giroud's wife, Jennifer, discovered a smashed window and reported the theft to the Los Angeles Police Department, according to KTLA. The stolen items reportedly include an extensive collection of men's watches, cumulatively valued at roughly $500,000.

Despite the burglary being reported some time ago, as of now, the Los Angeles Police Department has not made any arrests linked to the incident. They are still pursuing the investigation, with details being initially scarce as to how the thieves managed to carry out the heist in the home of the 38-year-old footballer. TMZ revealed that the stolen jewelry included more than 10 valuable watches, as per statements made by Giroud's wife to police officers.

The incident at Giroud's residence is part of a disturbing trend affecting professional athletes. In recent months, notable NFL players like Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelce, as well as NBA's Luka Doncic, have also had their homes burglarized. As reported by NYPost, arrests were made in connection to Doncic's incident involving three Chilean migrants.
