The Lewisville community is reeling after local police released details about a deadly shooting that took place over the weekend. The Lewisville Police Department reported that at roughly 8:26 PM on Tuesday, officers were dispatched after reports of gunfire at the 1600 block of South State Highway 121 Business. Upon their arrival, they discovered a 21-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds sitting in the driver's seat of a parked vehicle.
Tragically, lifesaving efforts by responding officers and the Lewisville Fire Department proved futile, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner has released the identity of the victim as Luis Tiant Kerby, born on August 21, 2003.
Detectives from the Lewisville Police Department worked tirelessly throughout the weekend, striving to carefully investigate the scene, interview witnesses, and thoroughly canvas the neighborhood in search of any leads. The social media post from the department stressed that the investigation is ongoing as officials continue to pursue a motive and are working to identify potential suspects related to the homicide.
The Lewisville Police Department is actively seeking assistance from the public for any information that could be instrumental in unraveling the events leading up to Kerby's death. Detective Jordan Potter has been assigned as the leading investigator for this case and can be reached at 972.219.3635 or via email at [email protected]. Furthermore, the department has encouraged the public to use the anonymous tip option through Denton County Crime Stoppers, which can be reached at 1.800.388.TIPS (8477) or at their website, dentoncountycrimestoppers.com.
