Lewisville locals are slated for a chance to weave tighter community threads on Saturday at the Tri-City Neighborhood Summit. The event, hosted at Flower Mound Senior Center from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., is a collaborative initiative between the City of Lewisville, Coppell, and the Town of Flower Mound. It's designed to foster connections amongst residents, and city leadership, and to highlight tactics for bolstering local communities.

According to the City of Lewisville, mayors TJ Gilmore, Cheryl Moore, and Wes Mays from Lewisville, Flower Mound, and Coppell respectively will be present to impart their insights on the foundations of neighborliness and the impact of robust neighborhoods on city life. Alongside them, Megan Ginn & Ian Campbell from The Neighboring Movement will headline the summit, with a program they call The 8 Front Doors Challenge. They promise to dish out "step-by-step EASY ways to get to know your immediate neighbors" and to organize small community gatherings.

Attendees at the summit will be treated to four distinct informational sessions, each addressing critical facets of neighborhood vitality. Topics range from safety programs like Neighborhood Watch to expert guidance on tree care, including proper pruning and drought-resilient irrigation techniques. Representatives from local police departments will also be on hand, sharing crime prevention tips and safety strategies tailored for Coppell, Flower Mound, and Lewisville residents.

Those looking to participate in the summit will find it cost-free, though an RSVP is required for planning purposes. Refreshments and lunch, courtesy of In-N-Out Burger, will be provided for those who make the cut.
