Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced on Friday that Antelope Valley resident Lacie Fetters, age 25, has been charged with murder in the death of her fiancé's four-year-old son. The child's father, Andrew Havrella, 36, faces charges of torture and child abuse, as per the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. The young boy's tragic death on December 3, 2024, has led to an outpouring of questions about the events leading up to the incident.
"Any form of violence against children is reprehensible," Hochman stated, as reported by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office website. Fetters, whose arraignment is scheduled for March 6, faces a life sentence with a possibility of parole after 25 years if convicted of the charges, which include one count of murder; one count of assault on a child causing death, and one count of torture. Her bail has been set at $3 million.
Havrella, charged with one felony count of torture and one count of child abuse under circumstances or conditions likely to cause great bodily injury or death, had his arraignment earlier today. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, prosecutors are seeking a $1.1 million bail for Havrella, who faces a maximum sentence of life in state prison if found guilty of the allegations.
