
Investigators have made progress in a case that rattled the local community. Jasiah Estrada, 18, from Madera, CA, was arrested by the Modesto Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit in connection with an incident of sexual battery that occurred on the West Campus of Modesto Junior College. This was stated in a recent report shared on the Modesto Police Department's Facebook page.
The arrest came after a female student reported an encounter where she was grabbed by Estrada, whom she did not know, thanks to the surveillance assistance from a neighboring business along with the prompt action of MJC Security, Estrada has been detained. Estrada, who isn't a student at the college, was located by detectives and arrested without incident he now faces charges for sexual battery and probation violations, he was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
The Modesto Police Department took the opportunity to remind the public of safety measures, emphasizing the importance of staying in well-lit areas, traveling with others when possible, and remaining aware of their surroundings without distractions like cell phones.
