A shocking incident unfolded on the streets of Corvallis, Oregon, where a man is accused of attempting to set a sleeping person on fire. According to reports obtained by KOIN, the alleged attack occurred on Feb. 16 at 100 SW Madison Avenue. Police were called to the scene after the victim, whose identity has been withheld, reported being set ablaze while asleep. The accused, identified as 48-year-old Larry G. Kiser Jr., was named by the victim during the distressing event.
Further details provided by KGW reveal that on the same evening, a dumpster close to where the victim was sleeping was also set on fire. Responding to this earlier incident was the Corvallis Fire Department, who extinguished the flames before police involvement. Subsequent investigations have led to the arrest of Kiser Jr., as he reportedly knows the person he is accused of endangering. However, the specifics regarding the motivation behind the attacks remain unclear.
Officials responded by executing a search warrant on last Wednesday, Feb. 19, which resulted in Kiser Jr.'s arrest, as per information from KPTV. Kiser Jr. now faces a slew of charges, including first-degree attempted arson, first-degree attempted assault, reckless burning, menacing, recklessly endangering another person, second-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree disorderly conduct, illustrating the severity of the allegations against him.
