
Tragedy struck last night in west Houston, as a man was hit by a car while attempting to cross Westheimer Road. The Houston Police Department arrived on the scene around 11:30 p.m. near Fondren Road to find the man dead, according to a report from Click2Houston. Further details from FOX 26 Houston indicate the man was crossing from south to north, outside of a crosswalk, when he was struck by a black SUV that was traveling westbound.
The driver, who has yet to be identified, did not stop to render aid and continued driving away from the scene. The victim, whose identity remains unknown, was pronounced dead at the site of the collision. Police are continuing to investigate, piecing together the circumstances that led to this fatal event, and authorities are working to identify both the driver and the deceased individual.
